Welcome to my blog! My name is Sherry and I started teaching math (and science) in 2008. I am certified to teach math grades 7-12, science 7-10, biology 9-12 and special education.
I grew up in rural Southwestern Ontario, Canada. I have lived in NJ, USA for my undergrad, studying math and biology at Georgian Court University. While there I played on the softball and volleyball teams and loved every minute of it. It is important to exercise both our bodies and brains.
In the past 5 years, I have been introduced to spiraling the curriculum, building thinking classrooms, and flipped classrooms. I will be writing about my journey and reflections on teaching using these methods in this blog.
Recently I have been spending time with my kiddos (age 4 and 2), making math resources, learning how to create digital Boom Cards™, and improving my fitness.
